For 4" andsmaller API 602 Gate Globe and Check Valves, forged steel valves areintroduced. Compared with castings, forged valve bodies offer the advantages ofmore uniform structure, greater density, higher strength integrity, enhanceddimensional characteristics and closer dimensional tolerances.

The design ofAPI 602 forged steel GGC valves are also various: Full port, conventional port/ reduced port; bolt bonnet, welded bonnet and pressure seal bonnet; socketweld (SW), threaded, butt welded (BW) and flanged end. Special designs includebellows seal gate valve, cryogenic gate valve to -196C, extended body gatevalve, per customers' requirements.
